The range of sensor substrates and coatings offered by Q-Sense enable a wide range of applications and measurements. There are a number of standard sensor coatings that are kept in stock and available off the shelf including Gold, Silicon Dioxide, Stainless Steel, Polystyrene, Aluminum Oxide, Titanium, Platinum, Hydroxyapatite and a Fluoropolymer. Additionally, a number of other coatings are made to order and we also offer the capability to make custom coatings specific to your application area.

The sensor is a critical part of a QCM-D experiment; high quality sensors with uniform coatings are therefore essential to ensure optimal results. All sensors are specifically designed for Q-Sense instrumentation and the sensor dimensions and coating thicknesses are optimized to ensure top performance. Additionally, the sensors are quality tested to guarantee the best possible measurement data, offering robust signals on the full overtone range supported by the instrumentation. The coatings are characterized by XPS and AFM to ensure the chemical composition and surface roughness. Additionally, our sensor development team has years of experience in sensor coating, handling and treatment, which enables us to offer recommendations for new surface chemistries, sensor usage and cleaning.

The number of applications for QCM-D is constantly growing and so is the need for new high quality sensor coatings suitable for these applications. To meet this demand, Q-Sense has in-house development of sensors as well as collaborations with universities and companies to explore new applications.
